CO-FOUNDER AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Prior to co-founding Future Leaders in Action, she worked as a paralegal at Weitz & Luxenberg, P.C. She was a fellow with Saha Global during the Summer of 2013. She has gained experience working with the U.S. Center for Citizen Diplomacy and PYXERA Global. She is passionate about FLIA because it cultivates leaders, strengthens nonprofits, and supports youth. She graduated from Georgetown with a major in government and minors in psychology and Arabic. Kirsten volunteers at Housing Works Bookstore.

Kayla was a fellow with Future Leaders in Action during the pilot year of 2015 and worked with Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland to develop a youth volunteerism program model. She has worked with a variety of youth-focused nonprofits and city/state agencies around the country and is committed to ensuring access to community resources in underserved areas.

Julie Hess - Board Member
Julie is a Senior Analyst, Customer Reporting for Comcast. Previously, she was a Senior Audit Associate at KPMG in the Philadelphia office. She is a licensed CPA and serves clients in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and manufacturing industries. Julie is a graduate of the University of Southern California where she completed a degree in Accounting and and a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in International Business.
Lance Ozier - Board Member
Dr. Lance Ozier is the Senior Literacy Specialist at the Institute for Student Achievement, in the research division of the Educational Testing Service. His work at ISA includes supporting schools with ISA’s evidence-based model framed by seven research-based principles that lead to improved student achievement and significantly increased high school graduation and college-going rates.
Previously, Lance worked in public schools at the elementary, middle and secondary education levels. Having also spent 15 seasons in the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York at Morry’s Camp, he is considered an expert on the ways in which schools and out-of-school time educational environments shape the learning lives of students by increasing non-cognitive factors and 21st century learning skills. Lance is a founding instructor in the Bank Street College of Education’s Summer Camp and After-school Leadership Certificate.
While completing his doctoral studies at Columbia University, Lance was on the English Education faculty of Teachers College, and he is currently Assistant Adjunct Professor of English Education at The City College of New York. Lance is a member of NCTE, AERA and completed his second term on the American Camp Association’s national Committee for the Advancement of Research and Evaluation (CARE).

Onnalee Kelley - Board Member
She is the business manager for the chairman of Berkshire Hathaway Energy.
Before her time at Berkshire Hathaway Energy, Onnalee worked as the finance and fundraising assistant to the founder and CEO of No Labels, in Washington, DC. In the summer and fall of 2012, she was the events director for the RNC's Victory Campaign in Iowa. Onnalee graduated cum laude from Colgate University, with a double major in political science and English.
Onnalee currently serves as the secretary of the Iowa Parks Foundation and is a board member for the Theodore Roosevelt High School Foundation.
