Mari Walsh (they/them) with Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC

Mari grew up in Chappaqua, NY and was born in Seoul, South Korea. They graduated Summa Cum Laude from Agnes Scott College with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Minor in Music. Mari is currently working as an English teaching assistant in Graz, Austria on a Fulbright-managed grant. They hope to complete their second year as a teaching assistant this fall and start a master’s program in English and American Studies at the University of Graz. Their goal is to one day become a high school English teacher in Austria. Mari enjoys learning new languages, traveling, and making new connections, an important part of their work with their fellowship organization Big Brothers Big Sisters NYC. They look forward to working as a BBBSNYC Fellow and hope to enact meaningful change in any way possible.
