SUMMARY
Madeline worked with Camp Fire Heart of Iowa to identify pressing needs of youth in Central Iowa and areas for program expansion. Camp Fire is an inclusive youth development organization, dedicated to connecting youth and nature to facilitate development of important life skills, such as problem solving and self-reliance, to live a healthy, fulfilling life.

Conducted literature reviews to address youth needs in areas such as mental health, racism, bullying, and LGBTQ+ issues.
Surveyed parents and potential partner organizations around Central Iowa to identify how to address youth needs
Interviewed high level staff members and campers to identify youth needs
Provided recommendations for program expansion and acted as a spokesperson
IMPACT
Hundreds of campers will be impacted by Madeline’s program expansion research.
